Green round amaranth

Description of the variety

Green amaranth round leaf is a warm-season annual that thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. It features soft, oval-shaped green leaves with prominent veins and green stems. The plant is highly adaptable to various climates, including temperate and subtropical regions like Sydney.

Planting Guidelines

Sow seeds directly into the garden bed at a depth of about 3 mm once the danger of frost has passed and soil temperatures are consistently above 18°C. Choose a sunny climate with rich, well-drained loam, and enrich the soil with compost or aged manure before planting. Space plants 45 cm apart in rows 60 cm apart to ensure good air circulation. Keep the soil evenly moist during germination (7–10 days) and early growth. Apply a slow-release fertilizer when seedlings are 5–10 cm tall, and water deeply once a week during dry spells.

Additional Remarks

Avoid overwatering and ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
